A day trip to Santa Domingo airport was quite cool for me. I sat in an air-conditioned "Wendy's" and looked out through tinted windows onto the ramp. The highlight of the day was to watch what was probably the last flyable "unpreserved" Lockheed Constellation take to the skies. HI583CT was loaded with cargo, started up in the traditional "connie cloud", then taxi's out and took off. A truly amazing sight !! |
