I've only ever crossed the Irish Sea three times, only once to the Republic, but I certainly enjoyed by brief day trips.

The first trip was as a result of "overdossing" on the Glasgow-Stranraer overnight, where I ended up on a dead end move at the Scottish port. I decided to take the ferry to Larne, and filled in with a class 70 unit Larne Harbour-Larne Town, then walking back to the port !!!!

The second trip took me to Belfast for a slightly more extensive bash of the DEMUs of NIR.

The final trip (maybe not so final) was an ITG railtour. Travelled with John Duff on the overnight Crewe-Holyhead, then ferry to Dun Loaghaire, for the DART to Dublin Connolly.

I took these pictures while waiting for the railtour which was a pair of class 121s from Dublin to Limerick Jn for 001 (herself) via Ennis and Athenry back to Dublin, extended through to Dun Loaghaire due to late running.

I wish I'd done more over there with the baby GMs but it is sadly too late now.
