German Railways

German Railways were of considerable interest to me, particularly the "forbidden" East Germany. Apart from travelling via the DB to Austria in 1981 and 1982 my first real trip to Germany was in 1983 to try and scoop a couple of the legendary V200s before their withdrawal. This trip also included the first trip to the Harz system which was repeated in 1985 and 1988. I havn't been back to the Harz since German reunification.
