4020 and 4675 stand in the old Walsall bus station. |
A flash from the past - WMPTE 2515 entered service in the Bus & Coach council livery in 1982. Seen here approaching the old Walsall bus station "running private". |
A number of buses were purchased for trial operation by WMPTE. Ten Alexander bodied Volvos were acquired for Cleveland Road depot in Wolverhampton, 1059 is captured here on a 531 service in Walsall. |
Ex Midland Red, Alexander-bodied Fleetline 6290 stands in Wedesbury bus station on a 244 to Stourbridge. |
I can't recall taking this picture but it depicts a Leyland National somewhere in the West Country !!!! |
Leyland Nationals were a part of the West Midlands PTE fleet in the 1980s, some receiving new numbers in the 10xx series from 44xx and 45xx. This is 1010 on a 332 service at Townend Square Walsall. Note it is "unbranded". |
Much as I didn't like the invasion of the MCW Metrobus, sweeping away large numbers of older buses, I had to include this pic of nearly-new 2444 working a 403E back to West Brom from Bradford Place, Walsall. Tucking in behind 2444 is 6672, and to the left is a Mk1 Metrobus, The Mk2 certainly had more style, and I still think this livery suits them better than the current tatty garb which they wear. |
One of West Midlands PTE's fleet of dual purpose Leyland Nationals was Birchills' 6818, pictured here at the old Walsall bus station. |
Sunday morning at Birchills and the WMPTE Bristol VRs are resting. There is a solitary Fleetline amongst the Bristol products. |
The only Crosville pic that I have is of an "SRG" registered 782EFM. This bus was still owned by Crosville although decorated in older livery, and is shown here parked in Machynlleth depot. |
